MY STORY
Welcome to Nicola Honey Artistry, thank you for taking the time to visit my website. I would like to share a bit about my interests and experience to help you decide if I am the right person to be part of your special day!
I am naturally an artistic person and realised at a very young age that I felt completely happy and content whilst drawing and painting. I love to start with a blank page and watch it grow into something beautiful that I am really proud of.
In my teenage years I took a performing arts class and part of the course was theatrical makeup. I quickly concluded that I had a passion for makeup application and thoroughly enjoyed creating beautiful makeup looks. I knew that if I could have a career using brushes and being creative then that was the job for me!
What I really love about make up is how it can change how you feel about yourself, how it can empower you and improve your self confidence. I absolutely love that I can make someone feel beautiful and confident just by doing what I love to do!!
I am based in Birmingham, West Midlands, U.K and have over 20 years’ experience in all aspects of makeup artistry, including Bridal, Editorial, Beauty, Body art, Commercial makeup. I worked for MAC for over 12 years, during this time I had some amazing opportunities. I have worked at London Fashion Week alongside makeup artists such as Sharon Dowsett, Lisa Butler, Georgina Graham, Terry Barber, Sam Bryant on shows such as Jonathan Saunders, Nicole Fahri, Boudicca, Margaret Howell, J Maskrey, Warren Noronha, Gareth Pugh, Preen, Alberta Ferretti and Basso & Brooke to name but a few. I have worked on various store collection launches as well as many fashion shows and photo shoots. I have traveled to shows all over the world showcasing my makeup and artistry skills, and have enjoyed every minute of it!
I would describe myself as a bit of a makeup geek - I really enjoy learning about all aspects of makeup and application. I am constantly researching the latest products and techniques which has enabled me to develop a broad product knowledge, gain knowledge of advanced artistry, the cosmetics industry and hone and perfect my makeup techniques and skills. All of which helps me to make you look and feel your most beautiful on your special day!
One of my biggest passions is Bridal makeup. I love the preparation, the build up and the excitement of the wedding day. Helping you to look and feel your best at such an important time is truly a privilege. I have a wide range of products suitable for all skin types and I am happy to advise on the best products to suit your needs. I am fully insured and my services include a trial to make sure you are completely happy with your look ahead of the big day.
My ethos is to create a flawless, long lasting, photogenic and timeless look designed just for you, so you feel beautiful and confident on your special day but also so you essentially still feel like you.
